Fear-free dog grooming in Sterling
Sherry and Rebecca groom every breed on a calm, kind and unhurried schedule: breed trims, de-shedding, skunk and flea baths, nails and ears.
Sherry and Rebecca, and a session that is not rushed
Grooming here is run by two people, Sherry and Rebecca. Sherry has groomed at Champion Kennels for nine years and has eighteen years with animals behind her. Rebecca brings more than twenty years of working with animals.
Every session is meant to be fear free, calm, kind and unhurried. A dog that is nervous on a table gets time to settle instead of a clock, and older dogs and dogs with special needs get extra attention from the first minute.
When the groom is finished the dog is not simply handed back. There is a potty break, fresh water, a treat and some pats before you see them.

What the table can do
Coat work covers full-service grooming for all breeds and breed-specific trims, plus de-shedding for the dogs that leave half their coat on your sofa, and a face wash to finish.
Baths cover the two jobs nobody wants to do at home: a skunk bath and a flea and tick bath.
Upkeep is the quick stuff that keeps a dog comfortable between full grooms: ear cleaning, and nail trims or grinding at $10, by appointment.
Booking, paperwork and what it costs
Grooming is by appointment only, and current rabies paperwork is required before the dog goes on the table. Call the office to book at (978) 422-3100.
There is no flat price list for a full groom, because the price depends on the breed, the coat condition, the size of the dog and how often the dog is groomed. Tell the office about your dog and they will quote it. Nail trims are the one fixed number, $10.
A missed appointment, or one that starts more than 15 minutes late, carries a $30 fee per dog. If you need to move a time, call the office for the current rescheduling policy.
Grooming at Champion Kennels is by appointment only, with current rabies paperwork on file. Cash or check, with an ATM on site.

A Cobberdog who likes going
“We have an Australian Cobberdog and they do a great job of grooming him. They are great with communication and are the least expensive groomer we have been able to find. He really likes it there too”
